A Blast in the Boondocks

This has become an annual Lamborghini Club event by popular demand. Everybody has voiced overwhelming enjoyment of the Saturday trip out to historic Barrett Junction where we are served a delicious, country-style lunch and live music. This year, we are inviting the San Diego Ferrari Owner’s Club to join us for the drive and lunch so the citizens of San Diego will enjoy the sight of some prime Italian iron rolling down the roads. The event date is 18 October (Saturday).

Saturday morning, we will all assemble across the street from the Bay Club Hotel on Shelter Island to prepare for a spirited drive en masse out the rural byways to historic Barrett Junction. Leon Herzog, owner of the Barrett Junction Café, will serve all-you-can-eat fried whitefish, slow-cooked barbecued ribs with Leon’s special sauce, hush puppies,  pilaf, refried beans, cornbread and salad. Each selection also includes a soft drink. The bar (no-host) will be open for those who prefer adult beverages. Leon will provide ample parking for the Lamborghinis and Ferraris and we will have the “Rhythm Masters,” a live, four-piece band on stage for our lunchtime entertainment. Join us and enjoy a great drive on great roads with lots of curves and some pretty, rural scenery. Get your car tuned up and fill the tank for some daytime fun! Price per participant is $33.00.
